Felix A. “Butch” Gurule Jr.

1956-2024

Felix A. “Butch” Gurule Jr., age 67, passed away on May 7, 2024.

He was born Nov. 21, 1956, in Fort Sill, Okla.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Margaret Gurule; and brother-in-law, Ray Duran.

He is survived by his three sons, Naithan Gurule and his wife, Carolina, and their six children, Emma, Naithan, Noah, Nava, Ella and Emmett; Jon Gurule, and Kyle Gurule, and their mother, Julie Rivera; his four siblings, brother, Jose (Anthony) Gurule, sister, Adela Thompson and her husband, Gene, sister, Dolores Duran, and sister, Sonja Griffin and her husband, Richard; along with several loving nieces and nephews, and his best friend and companion, his blue healer, Rocky.

He worked for Sonic Drive-In for much of his adult life. He loved the Los Lunas community and contributed in any way he could. He was proud of the many generations of the Gurule family in Los Lunas.

He was a people person, an excellent cook, loved to play blackjack, listen to the Eagles, sing karaoke, read the newspaper and watch the Dallas Cowboys.

He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, and he will be greatly missed.

A Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, with the Funeral Mass to follow at San Clemente Catholic Church, 244 Luna Ave. NE, Los Lunas. He will be laid to rest at the Los Lentes Cemetery in Los Lunas.
