Filadelfia “Phyllis” Otero Harris

Filadelfia “Phyllis” Otero Harris, age 66, passed away May 8, 2024, in Blanding, Utah.

She was born on Jan. 10, 1958, in Albuquerque, the second of four children. Phyllis graduated from Los Lunas High School and attended the University of New Mexico.

Having grown up in El Cerro, Phyllis married Guy Harris in 1998 and lived in Blanding, Utah, where she and Guy built a beautiful home, raised animals and farmed. Phyllis was an incredible cook and enjoyed cooking for others, including catering her son’s wedding. She was also a very talented artist and created many beautiful oil paintings. She will be missed by the many friends and family who knew and loved her.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Cecilia Benavidez Otero and Odelio Otero.

She is survived by her sister, Dolores Otero Padilla; brothers, Jose Santos Otero (Priscilla Chavez Otero) and DonlJo Otero (Marcella Otero); children, Shawn Marcos Bunton (Veronica Bunton), Alexander Chester and Andrew Chester; and granddaughters, Julie and Emily Bunton.

The family would like to thank all who have sent condolences and offered support during this difficult time.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Peralta, beginning with a visitation at 11 a.m., Monday, May 20, followed by a memorial mass and reception.
