Frances “Bobbye” Roberta Marquez, age 82, a resident of Raton, N.M., passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023. Services are currently pending.
She was born in 1940 in Las Vegas, N.M.
Bobbye is survived by Lawrence Marquez (Patti), Nicholas J. Marquez, Diana Crow (Johnnie), Loretta Swihart (Victor), Angelina Smith (Dan) and Kaitlynn “Anita” Sanchez; 13 nieces and nephews, and longtime close friend, Irene Marquez (Richard, Donna and RJ).
She is preceded in death by Nicholas, Susana Marquez and Crespin and Marry Montoya.
Bobbye served as a nurse and nurse practitioner of Colfax County and the N.M. Health Department. She enjoyed serving her community and won the “Search for Excellence” award in 1990.
Bobbye was a member of St. Patrick/Joseph Catholic Church in Raton, and later in Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Society in Raton. She volunteered for St. Vincent De Paul and served in Raton.
