On Aug. 31, 2024, Gabriel Elias Salazar, of Los Lunas, was called home.
His brief but impactful time on this earth began on Sept. 15, 1997.
Gabriel is survived by his loving mother, Yvette Salazar; and his brother, Eric Salazar.
He joins his father, Wayne Salazar, in heaven, forever receiving his guidance.
Gabriel also leaves behind his grandparents, Yvonne and Keith Jones, of Albuquerque; and his grandmother, MaryAnn Salazar, of Los Lunas.
As a child, Gabriel’s size was matched only by his caring personality. His parents created an environment that allowed him to thrive in athletics while maintaining his cheerful spirit. A natural athlete, Gabriel excelled in both football and baseball before graduating from Los Lunas High School in 2016.
As an adult, Gabriel sought to live a life full of meaning and purpose. He continued to adore his mother, seek support from his father, and provide endless friendship to his younger brother.
Gabriel expanded his family to include his closest friends, Steven “Twitch” Franco and LeAnna Romero, whom he considered family.

Gabriel brought kindness and love to every interaction during his short life. His loved ones will forever strive to live with the same enthusiasm and passion that filled put beloved Gabriel.
Services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at Los Lunas Cornerstone Church.
