Harold “Tiny” Potter Sr., age 83, a resident of Veguita, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023.

He was the most honest, caring and compassionate man to everyone whose lives he touched. He spent six years of his life traveling the world whilst he served in the U.S. Army. During his service, he went to Guam, Japan, Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He loved his country.

Tiny retired as an operator from the ALF-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations), the local 77 out of Seattle, Wash. He worked all over the U.S., bringing electricity to those in need. His longest project was bringing electricity above ground and underwater to the Alaskan Islands.

He was a skilled mechanic and had a passion for restoring classic cars; he loved his shop, and spent many hours there enjoying his hobby. He also loved spending time laughing with family and friends over coffee. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife.

Tiny is survived by his loving wife of many years, Barbara Aconfrio; sister, Patricia Swaner; daughter, Stacey Spralding; daughter-in-law, Donna Potter. He was also a father to Jennifer Jaramillo, Brandy Forman, and Dawn Odato; grandchildren, Amber, Tiffany and Robbie Potter, Shelby Spralding, Janelle Leyba, Carley Stump, Matthew Otto, Kiersten Matthews and Trent Odato; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Hunter, Axel Cunningham, London and Logan Hall, Richie Benavidez, Teagan James, Brayden Bo, Kadlyn Rae and Gabriel; and a number of nieces and nephews, who were dear to his heart.

He is preceded in death by his son, Harold Potter Jr. (TJ); parents, Dale Potter and Josephine Short; siblings, Darla Iszler, Jim Potter and Don Potter.

Harold “Tiny” was loved and respected by many; he will be dearly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held in the spring of 2024. He will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
