Janis Kathleen Peter, age 90, a resident of Belen, passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2024.

She was born Oct. 6, 1933, to Clifton and Kathleen Conant, of Bosque, N.M.

She enjoyed sharing memories of her childhood and was very proud of her family’s accomplishments. She lived a full life raising four children with her beloved husband, Eddy.

She enjoyed many hobbies, such as tennis, bowling, bridge, sewing, baking, reading, the Pilot Club and traveling.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clifton; mother, Kathleen; sons, Edward Jr. and Kenneth Peter; and grandson, Mark E. Peter.

She is survived by her husband, Eddy Peter; her children, Mark and Suzanne Peter; sisters, Maxine Conant and Annette Hardern; granddaughters, Danielle Peter, Lindsey Moore, Renee Stady and Kendall Peter; and great-grandchildren, Mark E. II, Milo, Tatum, Analeya, Eli and Theodore.

Services for Janis were held on Monday, Jan. 29, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. Interment took place following the funeral service.
