1946-2022

Larry L. Montoya, a lifelong resident of Belen, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2022, at the age of 76.

Larry was a kind man with a great smile and a sweet laugh. He was a hardworking man, who helped others in any way he could. Larry had a love for cooking chicharrones and tamales at Christmas time. He also loved growing flowers in the summertime.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Senobio Montoya; mother, Teofila Montoya; sisters, Patsy Serna, Josie Palmer and Jenny Rodriguez; brothers, Orlando, Tony and Johnny Montoya and Andy Garcia. He is also preceded in death by his eldest son, Melvin Maldonado; and his life partner, Theresa Aragon.

Larry is survived by his brothers, Archie and Leroy Montoya; his five children, Frances, Loddy, Patricia, Paul and Paula. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 7, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, followed by a reception at the Moose Lodge on N.M. 314.
