Laurine Katherine “Katie” Price

1947-2022

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, Laurine Katherine “Katie” Price, of Peralta, passed peacefully at the age of 74. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she returned home to rest eternally with Jesus.

Katie was born on Dec. 6, 1947, in Newport News, Va., to Charles P. Walker and Lourine Taylor (Hatton). She spent most of her life in the state of New Mexico, and called Peralta home for the last 36 years.

She is survived by her spouse of 42 years, Alvin (Tom) Price; her three children, George (Aaron) Stange and wife, Amanda, Angela Thompson and husband, Jim, and Roy Stange; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Amber, Jacob, Cody, Kimberely, Cheyanne, Celena, Elena and Niamh; 12 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Alma Spangenberg; brothers-in-law, Gary and Fred; and father of her children, George Stange.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lourine; siblings, Judith, Charla, Charles (Chuck) and Leon; and granddaughter, Stevie Ann.

Katie was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed immensely by all, especially by her animals, whom she loved deeply and took great pride in.

Katie’s wishes were to be cremated. No services are planned at this time.
