1979-2024

It is with heavy hearts that Lynn Albin, of Las Cruces, N.M., passed in Denver, Colo., on July 20, 2024.

She was born in Albuquerque in 1979 to Johnny and Mary Albin. She always supported and took care of her parents and grandparents. Lynn was loveable and carefree. She made friends easily.

Lynn graduated from Belen High School, where she was active in student council and played trumpet in the marching and concert bands. She was named prom queen as a senior.

Following graduation at BHS, she earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from New Mexico State University. She later fulfilled her dream of completing her Master of Science degree from George Washington University in systems engineering.

She dedicated her career to becoming and thriving as a software engineer at many aerospace and defense companies. Her career took her to various places as she lived in Paris along with other stints in Melbourne, Florida and Washington, D.C.

Her best friends were inseparable throughout their lives. They were in constant communication and enjoyed many coffee dates, getaways to fun destinations, football games and various other sporting events. They would tailgate together at NMSU football games. She enjoyed rooting for the Raiders.

Lynn and her work friends had special times, adventures, and strong bonds. She loved all of her coworkers. She will always be remembered for her contagious smile and kindness as well as a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend.

Lynn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clara and Anselmo Ortega and John and Fay Albin; aunt, Gloria Ortega; aunt, Karen Dancey; and cousin, Katheryn Ortega.

She is survived by her parents, John Albin, Mary Albin and Angelo Garcia; sister, Elizabeth (Kyle); nephew, Preston; niece, Kate; the Doperalski family, Yvonne and Terry Hunter, Nikki Romero, Sam Ortega, Tatyana Quintana, Samuel (Kathy) and Trinity (Amber) Ortega; great auntie, Gloria Reyes; Leroy (Dina) Ortega, Donnie and Mitch (Ann) Dancey, Vince and Valerie Garcia, Gina and Jerry Garcia, Audrey and Gavin Garcia, Dominic (Celia) family, Vanessa and Augustine; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Lynn brought a light so great to the world that even though she has gone, the light remains.
