Macedonio “Don” Marquez, age 85, a resident of Adelino, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, with his daughters at his side.
Services will take place on Tuesday, May 21, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomé, beginning with a visitation at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 11:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12 p.m.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Carrillo (Lorenzo), Jacqueline Swift (Craig) and Donna Rendon; 11 grandchildren, Lori Anne Oshelfski (Mark), Jenessa Carrillo, Kevin Carrillo (Danielle), Nicholas Rendon, Rebekah Rendon, Sophia Rendon, Marie Swift, Mariah, Destiny, Jacquin and Apollo Marquez; three great grandchildren, Cru and Rhone McBride and Theodore Carrillo; three brothers, Joe, David (Kathy) and Prudencio Marquez Jr. (Gloria); and many nieces and nephews he loved and enjoyed spending time with.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Prudencio Sr. and Annie Gurule Marquez; son, Conrad Marquez; brothers, Ubaldo and Albert Marquez; sister, Rachel Marquez; and sister-in-law, Charlene Marquez.
Don was a dedicated law enforcement officer, a skilled welder and passionate outdoorsman. He served with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years.
Outside of his career, Don enjoyed spending time in the outdoors camping, fishing and hunting, and shared his love of nature with his children. His love for his family was unwavering. Don lovingly cared for his parents in their final years, and cherished the bond he shared with his brothers. A phone call with each of them was an important part of his daily routine.
