Malachi N. Burson, a resident of Belen, passed away on July 30, 2024.

Malachi had a contagious smile and a laugh you would not forget. His family and friends would like for you to remember Malachi before drugs and alcohol took over his body and mind. Rejoice, as he is no longer suffering and in pain.

Malachi is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ginger Burson; great-grandmothers, Jo Shough and Leta Burson; and great-grandfathers, Benjamin Shough and Harvey Burson.

Malachi is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tonya Burson-Ivory and Alvin Ivory; his two children, Laila and Zia Burson; his grandfather, Dick Burson; his uncle and aunt, Coleman and Jennifer Burson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services for Malachi will take place on Friday, Aug. 23, at Calvary Chapel in Belen. A visitation with family and friends will take place from 9:30-10 a.m., with services beginning at 10 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church.
