Marilyn (Seery) Beal passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at the age of 87.
She was born on Sept. 17, 1937, in Belen, the daughter of Virginia and Alfred Seery. In her youth, Marilyn was very active in the Belen community. She participated in multiple clubs at Belen High School and was honored to serve as homecoming queen her senior year, and was the valedictorian of her graduating class in 1955.
Marilyn attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., and earned a degree in teaching. After college, she moved to Denver, where she met her husband of 42 years, Richard Beal. She and her husband eventually settled in Hillsborough, Calif., where they raised their family.
After the passing of her husband in 2003, Marilyn moved to Denver, Colo., to be close to her children. Her style and taste made her a gifted hostess who enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Passionate about travel, she enjoyed many adventures around the world.
She will always be remembered for her grace, beauty and elegance, as well as her unfailing kindness and hospitality.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her daughter, Sydney; and is survived by her son, Brad Beal and his wife, Danielle, and their children, Shaya, Izyk and Ethan; and her brother, Alfred Seery Jr.
A private celebration of life gathering for Marilyn will be held in Denver on Saturday, Sept. 14.
