1934-2023

Mary Edith Romero, age 89, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.

Services will take place on Friday, March 10, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 10 a.m., and a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Mary and her husband, Frank, owned and operated Frank’s Septic and Pumping business for many years, one of the first pumping businesses in the valley.

She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mary especially enjoyed being part of the Widow Mights, a team that helps people in need.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Romero; parents, Jesus and Esther Vigil Gurule; and siblings, Kathrine Melton and Benjamin and Alice Gurule.

Mary is survived by her nephew, Randy Melton (Laura Reneau); nieces, Connie Paul (Terry), Joan Linn, Irene Reeder (Thom) and Anita Baca (Damien); special great-nephews, Noah and Luke Baca; goddaughter, Nicole Gabaldon; and many loving nieces and nephews on the Garcia and Romero family side; and many close loving friends and neighbors.
