Millicent “Milli” Embry Sánchez passed away on Oct. 24, 2024.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Thursday, Nov. 14, starting with a visitation at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 9 a.m., eulogy at 9:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Alex Sánchez; children, Keith (Ana Romero-Sánchez), Todd (Noriko Naka-Sánchez) and Christi Sánchez (fiancé Ricardo Sánchez); grandchildren, Elijah Meeks-Sánchez, Tobias, Ella and Lucas Akito Sánchez; siblings, Mary, Janet, Gail and Marci; and several nieces and nephews.
Milli is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Ella Brown Embry.
She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, the National Educators Association of America and many charitable organizations. Milli was a true Nueva Mexicana and an adopted daughter of El Salvador.
She was a devoted spouse, mother, friend and teacher. Milli had an unquenchable curiosity, leading her on a lifelong quest for knowledge. She loved to dance, especially when she was dancing with the love of her life, Alex, and when her son, Keith, was singing.
Milli brought sunshine into every room she entered. She was a golden light, and that energy was shared with every person she ever knew.
Pallbearers will be son, Todd; and grandchildren, Elijah, Tobias, Ella and Lucas Sánchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert, Michael, David and Ricardo Sánchez.
