Moises “Mo” Griego

1935-2022

Moises “Mo” Griego was born on Dec. 6, 1935, in Los Lentes, N.M., to Ramon and Juanita Griego.

In his early career, he was elected justice of the peace. Mo was chief deputy in the Valencia County Clerk’s Office under many county clerks He was the elected Valencia County clerk. He was also Valencia County manager, chairman of the Valencia County Democratic Party, and was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention.

Mo was surrounded by family and friends.

Moises was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Juanita Griego; and by his brothers, Justo and Amador; and sister, Matilde.

He’s survived by his wife, Marina Griego; daughter, Amy Griego; grandsons, Jonathan Jones and Kevin Jones Jr.; granddaughter, Jasmine Quintana; great-grandchildren, Faolan Jones and Rozalynn Jones; brothers, Charles Griego and Tony Griego; and many nieces and nephews.
