Morris Ruben Vaisa

Morris Ruben Vaisa, age 65, a resident of Valencia, and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Parish in Peralta, was granted his angel wings on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.

Services will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, beginning with a visitation at 5 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. A final visitation will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8, with a Funeral Mass following at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.

His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Morris loved his Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys and Dodgers baseball teams. He remained a loyal fan. “Win or lose.”

He was employed by MRGCD for many years. After retirement, Morris drove trucks for Duke City and HR trucking. He spent countless hours a day meticulously tending to the family farm. You could always find him on the field with a shovel cutting weeds, cleaning out the ditches for irrigation, and watering plants around the house.

For many years, Morris was an usher at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta at the 8 o’clock Mass. He loved giving the children a piece of candy and greeting the parishioners before they entered for services.

He had an infectious smile and quick wit about him that remained to the very end. His happy place was on the dance floor or just listening to music on his truck radio.

Morris was preceded in death by his father, Joe R. Vaisa; brother, Leroy Vaisa; sisters, Margaret Garcia, Yvonne Sanchez and Martha Garley; brothers-in-law, Arlen Romero, Peter Garley and Tony Garcia; nephews, Arlen Clayton Romero and Dominic Garley.

He is survived by his children, Samantha Funes, (David), Leah, Aaron Vaisa, Chantel and Rileigh Moya; grandchildren, Alexis Tuell, (Kris), Louiz and Mateo Funes, Isaiah and Santos Baca, Jocelyn, and Lorenzo Vaisa; and great-grandbabies, Gabriel and Mireya Tuell; mother, Soila Moya; girlfriend, Emma Abeita; sisters, Lillian Romero and Betty Lovato (Jose); and brother, Roland Vaisa (Rosemary).
