Ninfa was born and raised in Jarales, where she became the heart and soul of the Torres family. As the family matriarch, she was the glue that held everyone together.
Ninfa was a woman ahead of her time, challenging traditional roles with grace and determination. She was a devoted wife, mother and a trailblazing career woman who left behind a legacy of wisdom for her family to carry forward.
Her talents were many; Ninfa found joy in sewing, ceramics, Swedish weaving and painting. The art she created will be cherished for generations.
Known for her generous spirit, Ninfa welcomed all who needed help with open arms. Her heart was as expansive as her talents, and she was a beacon of love and kindness.
Ninfa dedicated many years to working in correctional facilities for the state of New Mexico and spent more than 35 years in the fireworks business alongside her husband. Despite the world’s noise, it was her gift of listening that truly set her apart.
Ninfa is preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Domitila Hidalgo; her husband, Jude Torres; sons, Vincent and Victor Torres; her sister, Alice Baca and Rudy Vallejos.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Hidalgo; loving children, Marcia Martinez-Torres, Veda Ceballos and husband, Lorenzo, Lisa Torres and partner, Greg Thompson, and Jude Michael Torres.
Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Valarie Baldonado and Tony Mace, Nathaniel Ashton, Rebecca Torres, Susie Aguilar, Vanessa Torres, Julie and Casey Miles, Vincent Torres, Regina Torres, Rochelle Ceballos and Jeremy Harding, Guadalupe and Hannah Ceballos and Felicia Chavez.
