Nora Maestas, age 67, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Visitation took place on Friday, March 22, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at the Los Lentes Cemetery.

She is survived by daughter, Josephine Gonzales; son, Joe Maestas; her world, her grandkids, Mathew Gonzales and Kaitlynn Groman, who she adored tremendously; brothers, Margarito JR. Gonzales, Bruce Gonzales, Ronnie Romero (Mela) and Felix Romero (Lisa); sisters, Louisa Hernandez (Isidro), Frances Chavez (Bernie), Bernadette Martinez (Joe), Yolanda Romero and Frances Gonzales; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who she loved dearly.

Nora is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Maestas; son, Anthony “Antonio” Maestas; parents, Margarito and Josephine Gonzales; brothers, Michael “Mike” and Eugene “Gino” Gonzales; aunt, Elsie Romero; and sister-in-law, Aurora Gonzales.

She was known for her loving heart. Her kindness and compassion will be her greatest legacy. Nora enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren; she was and will always be our biggest cheerleader.
