Robert Shadron

1940-2024

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, Robert Alden Shadron, a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran, passed away at the age of 83.

Robert was born in Murphysboro, Ill., to Robert Andrew and Pricilla Shadron.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Shadron; two daughters, Michelle Chavez (Ray) and Judith Shadron; five grandchildren, Kylene (John), Derrik, Erik, Janice and Jessie; and one great-grandchild, Oliver; brother, Don Shadron; sister, Peggy Gunderson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Pricilla; son, Jason Alden; and granddaughter, Jada Robin.

Following his military service, Robert attended WNMU Silver City and UNM college. He taught in the APS system and Los Lunas Schools.

Robert was an avid sports fan. He was a powerlifter in college, coached basketball, track and field events. He instilled that love for sports and the discipline it required in his children.

Robert’s life remembered will be private per his request. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff (VA Hospital) and interim home health care for their care.
