Sandra Marcelina “Mama Sasa” Mirabal
1965-2024
Sandra Marcelina “Mama Sasa” Mirabal, age 58, resident of Belen, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
She was born Nov. 9, 1965, in Albuquerque, to Felicia Martinez. She was a proud graduate of Albuquerque High School! Go Bulldogs! She worked as a cashier at Hi Lo, a waitress at Red Balloon, the Luna Mansion, and the Frontier Restaurant, canister operator at Sud Cheme, tax examiner at NMDWS, she was a baker at Walmart and Donut King. Her final place of work was as the baker at Smith’s in Los Lunas.
Those who knew her knew she loved the Lord. She adored and loved her children and grandchildren. She was a Bull Doggie (cheerleader) for AHS. Growing up, she did ballet, tap and jazz for many years, as well as other sports. She was a dancer; you would put on some Selena, Bruno Mars or any music, she would jam!
She loved singing, joking (she had no filter). Her football team was the Dallas Cowboys. She loved baking (she always prayed over everything she baked). She loved Harleys and always said she was a truck driver.
Her favorite Bible verse was Numbers 6:24-26. She was the one you went to in the time of need or when exciting things happen.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Felicia Martinez; and sisters, Socorro Meadows and Laree Baca; and brother, Gerald Mirabal.
She is survived by her children’s father, Robert Mirabal; son, Onecimo and wife, April; daughters, Jessica and Nicole; bonus daughter, Myah; grandchildren, Joshua, Quinton, Audreyanna, Onecimo, Damien, Giovanni, Daisy, Gabriel and Luchiano; brothers, Severo, Jesus and Anthony Fidel (wife, Angelica); sisters, Sophie (husband, David), Sophia (husband, Glen) and Virginia; nephews, Patrick (wife, Lori), Christopher and Jeremiah; and several other nephews and nieces, and many wonderful friends.
Friends, family and others, whose lives Sandra touched, are invited to her services.
Services for Sandra will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 13, at New Life Church of God, 3400 Aztec Road NE, Albuquerque. A reception will follow.
