1952-2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virgina M. (Leger) Gagnon, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She passed away peacefully on Sept. 14, 2024.

“Ginny” was born Aug. 6, 1952, in Fitchburg, Mass., to Joseph and Virginia Leger. Even though she was born in Massachusetts, she always called Los Lunas her home.

She met her husband, Arthur L. Gagnon, of 44 years, in Fitchburg, Mass., and they raised three children and many foster children, before calling New Mexico their home.

Ginny is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur; her parents, four brothers, Dick, Bob, Bill and Louie; and her godmother, Evelyn.

She is survived by her son, Keith; daughter, Nicole; her grandchildren, Marron, Havyn, Nahara and Kyle; sister, Annmarie Pearson; brother-in-law, Bill; brother, Jim Leger; and many friends.

She wanted to be remembered by her fun-loving sense of humor and witty personality.

A memorial will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 400 Huning Ranch Loop W., Los Lunas.

Arrangements are being held by Trujillo’s Funeral Home in Albuquerque.
