Wallace Allen Yeskie passed away Jan. 20, 2024, after a short illness.

Wally was born in Wisconsin, received his mechanical engineering degree from University of Wisconsin. He married Sondra Melby and moved to Kansas City, Kan.

He was then drafted and spent two years in Washington, D.C., before returning to Kansas at his position at Marley. He later joined Hallmark Cards and worked there for 28 years.

Sondra, his first wife, was lost in the tragic car accident that left him a paraplegic in 1982. Wally and Lin were married in 1985 and moved to Los Lunas from Overland Park, Kan., in 2014.

Wally enjoyed bird watching, bridge and travel. He was a Boy Scout leader for 22 years and received the Lamb and Silver Beaver Awards.

Lin, his three children, Mark, Kay and Ronda, their spouses and his seven grandchildren and Pete, his stepson, will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at our villa, 500 Jubilee Blvd., Los Lunas, and interment will be at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kan., on his 90th birthday on Aug. 22.
