Letters to the Editor
Everyone needs a second
Editor:
America is not used to political assassination. Not since Ronald Reagan in the 1980s has an assassination attempt put a president in the hospital.
Not since John F. Kennedy in the 1960s has a president died by assassination. Even presidential candidates are rarely injured by the assassin’s hand. It is a big deal when, on July 13, a bullet whizzed by former president and presidential candidate Donald Trump and wounded his ear.
The act was condemned on both sides of the political aisle, and pundits could pontificate on political repercussions.
All of us are left to wonder what would have happened if the bullet had been a few inches over and the attack successful. We are reminded of the importance of No. 2.
Donald Trump did not have a clear No. 2 yet. He had not named a vice presidential candidate. Even in his own family several people could accept the mantle if he left the field. If he goes, who takes his place?
July 13 is an example of the importance of having a No. 2, someone who can keep things going when you can’t. It is not just political leaders who need a No. 2.
If you are out of commission, who does your job? Runs your business? Fills your role? That person is important. To quote one of our early politicians, John Adams: “I am Vice President. In this I am nothing, but I may be everything.”
One of America’s two political parties came perilously close to chaos, in part because of the lack of a clear No. 2. Why should we risk that fate for our families and communities when we can get our own “vice president” now?
Cut down on chaos. Find your own “vice president.” Who’s your No. 2?

Can’t wait to see His plan
Editor:
Why is president Trump alive today? With all the assassination coverage that we see, it is easy to tell that if president Trump would’ve turned his head in a different position he would have been killed.
There is a saying that says, “there but for the Grace of God go I, ” and, in my opinion, I think it belongs correctly in this situation.
As much as the people who do not want to see Donald J. Trump as our next president, there is someone who does want to see him as the leader of this great country. On Saturday, July 13, 2024, He spoke very loudly about this man, Donald J. Trump.
In my lifetime, I can tell you I can remember being in third grade when John F. Kennedy was assassinated. I can remember when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. I can remember when Robert Kennedy was assassinated, and I can remember when they tried to assassinate President Ronald Reagan. Any kind of murder, whether it is in the womb or outside of the womb is wrong.
While I am clearly dissatisfied with the way our current culture has turned, and has discarded the culture I grew up in, I can see no reason to murder the leader of that party. Today, I think it is easy to see the way a small group of very powerful people are trying to own or run everything worth having.
From the world economic forum, the trilateral commission, the CEOs of large banks and corporations plus old money, there is a definite plan underway to manage this industrialized world. The tentacles of this project reach down into controlling the population through planned births and deaths.
Speaking for myself, I am only willing to except one Savior. He will sort things out. I will have more faith in Him than in men.
There are indispensable values that have passed the test of time. Where are the lines that won’t be crossed? What are the values that must be cherished? At the end of your days, how will you be held accountable?
We live in a very attractive culture today. It is easy to get lost in the degradation. The globalists are the fake gods that represent pure evil.
God’s plan is not dependent on President Joe Biden or President Donald Trump; however, I think God is using both men to show his tremendous power.
I am glad that president Donald J. Trump was not assassinated on July 13. I can’t wait to see what the rest of God‘s plan is!
