Jaramillo shines at WGA Eclectic Tournament

RIO COMMUNITIES—May was a busy month of play for the Women’s Golf Association, with the Eclectic Tournament taking place on May 14 and 21.
Winner in the Ladies 18 division was Marilyn Jaramillo. There were no Ladies 9 players.
Scramble winners on May 7 were Tammie Fuller, Sandy Watts, Marilyn Winters and Joanne Romero. Second place was the team of Edie Redfearn-Moore, Marilyn Jaramillo, Anna Martinez and Jeannie Burleson.
In Ace Day competitions, the Wednesday Ladies 18 winner was Berta Murzyn, and the Saturday Ladies 18 winner was Janel Lowry. There were no Ladies 9 players on either day.
Chip-ins were made by Redfearn-Moore and Jaramillo, and birdies were made by Murzyn and Watts. Romero had a Chip-in Birdie. Murzyn earned three First-Gross honors, and Winters and Jaramillo each earned one First Net.
Several WGA members played in the NMSWGA Tournament in Las Cruces on May 19. Sandy Watts placed First Gross in her flight and Jeannie Burleson earned Second Net in her flight.
The featured event for June is the President’s Cup competition for both Ladies 18 and Ladies 9 players on June 25.
