Tribal Road Run

The Pueblo of Isleta

Diabetes Program is holding its Tribal Road Run on Sunday, April 21. The 5K run and 2K fun walk/run will begin at 8 a.m. The 10K race will begin at 8:45 a.m. The costs for the races are $15 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. Costs are increased by $2.00 the day of the race. The cost for the walk/run is $5.00 for adults, $2.50 for children. Pueblo hand-crafted awards will be given to first-, second- and third-place finishers in each age group and the overall male and female winners. The race will begin at Cottonwood de Isleta. LL softball leagues

The Village of Los Lunas is now taking registration for its men’s open and “fun” softball leagues. The fee to register a men’s open team is $450. The cost for the fun league is $325 per team. The season is slated to start later this month. For more information, call 865-5080 after 5 p.m.

Stingray swimming

The Los Lunas Stingrays swim team is holding registration for this summer’s season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the Village Day School in Los Lunas. For more information, call 861-0112.

Belen YAFL

The Belen Young American Football League will be having its first sign-up of the year on Saturday, May 4, from noon to 5 p.m. at the City of Belen’s Dia de los Niños at the Belen Multi-Purpose park. The registration fee is $100 per player. Please bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate and proof of current address (i.e., a utility bill) to the registration. Horseshoe tourney

A horseshoe pitching tournament will be held in conjunction with the Los Lunas Cinco de Mayo celebration. The draw-your-partner tournament will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, at Daniel Fernandez Park. The tournament is a fund-raiser for the Los Lunas YAFL sophomore football team. Belen AYSO

The Belen AYSO soccer league will be holding registration for next season from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7, at the Belen Recreation Center. All boys and girls with birth dates between August 1, 1983 and Jan. 31, 1998. The cost is $40 for the first child and $37 for each additional child. The registration fee includes full uniform, a soccer magazine and insurance. The last day for registration is July 1, 2002. Registration after the July 1 deadline costs $60 and is on a space available basis.

Sand volleyball

The Village of Los Lunas is taking registrations for its summer co-ed sand volleyball league. An organizational meeting is set for 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at the Daniel Fernandez Youth Center gym. Los Lunas YAFL

Registration for next season’s Young American Football League in Los Lunas will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Daniel Fernandez Youth Center. The fee is $100 per child. A birth certificate and utility bill are required at the time of registration.

Youth boxing

The Los Lunas Boxing club is looking for a few 13- to 15-year-old boys who might want to join. For more information, call Al at 315-6465.

Hoop team seeks players

The Los Lunas Blaze, an AAU boys basketball team for 14- and 15-year-olds, is looking for players to fill its roster. If interested, call Coach Saiz at 379-8895.

Open gym

The Los Lunas Parks and Recreation department is offering an open gym from noon to 1 p.m. at the Daniel Fernandez Youth Center gym. There is no charge.
