‘View from Front Porch’ is topic of speech

Lottie Venable of Las Cruces will give her rendition of “A View From the Front Porch” to the women of the First United Methodist Church of Belen on Saturday, April 13.

The play is a humorous commentary on an ordinary Christian woman’s struggle to live by “The Book.” It was written by Roberta Yarbrough, a published author, who also happens to be Lottie’s sister.

Lottie moved from Texas to Las Cruces many years ago. She retired as the head nurse of the neo-natal department of Memorial Medical Center there. She teaches an adult Sunday school class at the University Methodist Church.

Women of the community are invited to join the presentation with the United Methodist Women at 10 a.m. at the church. A business meeting will follow.
